  • South Africa's AI music rulebook is one disclosure box, and it doesn't decide who gets paid

SAMRO now asks members to say how much AI went into a song when they register it, but it sets no minimum human contribution and says disclosure decides nothing about royalties. The Copyright Amendment Bill is back in Parliament without a word on AI, and the national AI policy was withdrawn. For South African songwriters, the royalty pool is open to AI works by default.
