We are the music makers is a news site and tools directory for music technology and AI in music. We publish a small number of news posts each day, a weekly opinion column called "What we think", guides, and a directory of the tools working musicians use. Every factual claim links to where it came from, and every piece adds analysis or an opinion of ours rather than restating a press release.
Posts carry a byline and the line "Researched with AI assistance, written and checked by" followed by the editor's name. How we use AI, and where people review the work, is in the editorial policy.
How we make money
We plan to earn from paid directory listings, newsletter sponsorships and affiliate links. Paid and affiliate links are marked as sponsored, and sponsored items are labelled. The exact disclosure wording is on the disclosures page.
The independence rule
Payment never changes a ranking, a score or what we write. We never sell rankings or scores, and payment data never reaches the scoring that decides where a tool appears. How we test and rank explains the method.
Not the subreddit
We are the music makers is not affiliated with Reddit or the r/WeAreTheMusicMakers community.
