Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the piece, say what changed, and record it here.

What we do

• Correction: we published something factually wrong. We fix it on the page, add a dated note at the bottom of the piece, and list it in the log below.
• Clarification: the facts were right but the wording was misleading or missing context. We change the wording, add a dated note and list it in the log below.
• Updates: news moves on. Adding new developments to a piece is not a correction, and goes in the piece's change log.
• We do not quietly rewrite a published claim. Typos and formatting are fixed without a note.

How to report a mistake

Email the address on the contact page with the link to the piece and what you think is wrong, ideally with a source.
