All three majors now back Stability AI: what a $76M round says about AI music's power map
Universal, Sony and Warner all took equity in Stability AI's $76M Series B on 25 Aug 2026. The labels are now licensors, development partners and shareholders of the same AI company, and none of the announcements says how artists share in any of those roles.

Stability AI's Stable Audio 3.0 family puts music models that make up to 6:20 of audio onto ordinary laptops, with open weights for Small and Medium. The "fully licensed" training set is stock library and Creative Commons audio, not label catalogue, and the free licence ends at $1M in annual revenue.
