An AI-sung ballad hit No. 3 on Korea's Melon chart, and Korea's royalty rules leave it out

"Have You Become the Adult You Dreamed of Being?", a ballad by the creator Meomure with vocals made in Suno, reached No. 3 on the Melon Top 100 in October 2026. Its timing is awkward: KOMCA, Korea's main songwriters' society, pulled its rules for registering AI-assisted songs in August. So openly AI-assisted songs can't be registered, while a state audit suggests undisclosed AI use is already common.
