Virgin Music Group, part of Universal, completed its $775 million purchase of Downtown on 20 Feb 2026, a week after EU regulators cleared it on condition that one unit, the Curve royalty platform, be sold. CD Baby, FUGA and Songtrust now belong to a major label group, and the regulator's scrutiny of data stopped at Curve.
